Coldwater Consulting was incorporated in 2007 as an independent consulting firm. Prior to establishing Coldwater, the firm’s principals were partners in Pacific International Engineering: a consultancy headquartered in the Pacific northwest. The development of the separate, northeast-based, Coldwater provides a complement to the northwest-based Pacific International. While now independent, both firms continue to collaborate on projects allowing clients of both firms access to a broad range of technical skills and project experience.

Vice PresidentNeil J. MacDonald, Ph.D. Dr. MacDonald is a wake and hydrodynamic modelling specialist. He has twenty years of experience in the development and application of computational models for the solution of a wide range of engineering problems impacting coasts, estuaries, lakes and rivers. In addition to his expertise in vessel wake hydrodynamics and impacts to shorelines, he has extensive experience in the use of physical models, field studies and analytical approaches. He has developed and marketed a number of computer models for the prediction of wave propagation and transformation, ship-induced wake and drawdown, and sediment transport. |
