Coastal and waterway studies throughout North America

Experience

Over the past five years, we have become world leaders in ship wake monitoring, assessment, modelling and mitigation works.

Coldwater Consulting has a proven track record for a wide range of coastal and waterway studies and engineering projects.

Technical Edge

Our team has extensive experience in the development and application of numerical models for the simulation of hydrodynamics and sediment transport processes in complex environments. Our expertise includes wakes, circulation and sediment transport processes under combined waves and currents, and two-dimensional wave transformation modelling.

Waterways and wake analysis

We have led engineering and scientific studies of wakes and their effects on coasts and waterways throughout North America. Our experience includes berthed vessel response to passing vessels; design criteria development for shore structures; ferry system design and optimization; waterway/navigation system operations and effects such as shoreline erosion.

Shoreline restoration

The staff of Coldwater Consulting has performed numerous scientific and engineering studies throughout North America to analyse shoreline erosion problems and to develop appropriate remedies. Our experience includes shoreline management planning, beach nourishment design, the design of both conventional and buried revetments as well as dune restoration.
