Climate change is one of the greatest challenges facing our society. Research suggests that the world is experiencing increased air and sea temperatures, changes in rainfall patterns and amounts, and rising sea levels. These processes, which may lead to changes in storm patterns, flooding and inundation, and erosion will impact both the natural and built environment. Adaptation to current and projected rates of climate change in policy and design will be key to ensuring the survival of our infrastructure investments.
